CRS returns in Schema v3.0, ready before the portal reopens.

The DITC no longer provides an XML generator tool, and from early 2027 every new return, correction and deletion must be in the OECD’s v3.0 schema. AEOIkit is a browser-based generator that produces it, validated, with a workflow you already know. If the DITC’s rules require changes once the portal reopens, every licensed copy gets the update free.

CI$1,500 per FI, per reporting year (charged as US$1,800). A one-off purchase: nothing renews automatically. All pricing →

Why AEOIkit

Four things that matter, in order.

It does one job — producing a schema-valid v3.0 CRS XML file — and is priced like a tool, not a platform.

01

Ready for v3.0 today

Output validates against the OECD v3.0 schema set, including the new account-type, joint-account and self-certification data.

02

Your data stays with you

The core tool runs entirely in your browser. Entry, CSV import, validation and XML generation happen on your machine — no upload, no server, and it works offline.

03

The workflow you already know

The same tab layout and identifier conventions as the retired DITC tool, plus plain-language error lists, CSV bulk import and draft save/load.

04

Priced like a tool

CI$1,500 (charged as US$1,800) per FI, per reporting year, as a one-off purchase — about the cost of outsourcing one filing — with volume rates for administrators, TCSPs and director firms.

Filing in the Cayman Islands

Three things changed for Cayman filers this year.

The DITC’s free XML generator is gone, the portal is expected to reopen in early 2027 for v3.0 files, and the 2026-period deadline is 30 June 2027.

Retired
No DITC tool

With the move to v3.0, the DITC is no longer providing an XML generator tool.

Required
v3.0 only

New reportable accounts, corrections and deletions must all be submitted in XML Schema v3.0 — including corrections to returns for earlier years.

Deadline

How it works

From blank return to schema-valid v3.0 XML.

Four steps, all on your machine.

  1. 01

    Open

Open your licensed copy in the browser you already use. No installer, no account, and no connection needed once it’s open.

  2. 02

    Enter or import

Key in accounts using the familiar tabs, or bulk-import from CSV. Save a draft and resume later — drafts stay on your machine.

  3. 03

    Validate

One click runs schema rules, v3.0 data-quality rules and DITC identifier conventions, and lists anything to fix in plain language.

  4. 04

    Download & file

Download the validated XML and upload it to the DITC portal. The product video shows every step on sample data.

Who it’s for

Self-filers, and the firms that file for them.

Self-filing FIs

Your old workflow, back.

Private trust companies, standalone funds, captive insurers, family-office vehicles — anyone whose compliance officer or director used the free DITC tool.

  • Opens in your existing browser, no IT ticket
  • Works on a Mac or a locked-down PC
  • A plain-language error list, then a schema-valid v3.0 file

The standard

The Amended CRS and XML Schema v3.0

What changed in the OECD standard, what it means for the file you submit, and how AEOIkit checks it. This page applies wherever the amended standard is adopted; the jurisdiction pages cover local rules and dates.

What changed

The OECD amended the Common Reporting Standard and published a new XML schema, version 3.0, with a user guide for tax administrations (version 4.0, 2024). Jurisdictions adopting the amended standard require returns in the new schema.

For a reporting FI the practical change is more data per account. The v3.0 schema adds elements such as the account type, whether an account is new or preexisting, joint-account details and the number of joint holders, the role behind an equity interest, and whether a valid self-certification is held.

Why v3.0 needs more than a format change

New elements bring new data-quality rules, and receiving jurisdictions validate against them. A file can be well-formed XML and still be rejected. That is why AEOIkit validates twice: against the OECD schema, and against the business rules the status-message guidance describes.

Corrections under v3.0

The user guide sets out how corrections and deletions work: a corrected record references the record it replaces, and each correction completely replaces the earlier one. AEOIkit generates correction and deletion records using identifiers consistent with your prior filings.

How we check our output

  • Validation against the official OECD CrsXML_v3.0.xsd schema set — zero errors on every sample we publish.
  • A 119-check automated regression suite run before every release.

CRS in the Cayman Islands, 2026–2027

What the DITC has announced, the dates that matter, and what you need to have in place before the portal reopens.

In one line: the DITC’s free XML generator is gone, the portal is expected to reopen in early 2027 for v3.0 files, and the 2026-period deadline is 30 June 2027.

The timeline

  1. 31 July 2026Past

Deadline for 2025-period CRS XMLs and Filing Declarations — the last cycle under the old schema.

  2. Early August 2026Past

The DITC Portal closes for CRS XML and Filing Declaration submissions.

  3. Early 2027Upcoming

The portal is expected to reopen for the 2026 reporting year, accepting XML Schema v3.0.

  4. 30 June 2027Key deadline

Deadline for the 2026 reporting period — a month earlier than the previous 31 July. From the 2026 reporting year onwards (first due 30 June 2027), the CRS return and the CRS compliance form are both due by 30 June.

  5. 30 June 2028Upcoming

Deadline for the 2027 reporting period.

The DITC XML generator tool is retired

With the transition to v3.0 the DITC is no longer providing an XML generator tool. Filers who relied on it need another way to produce a compliant file. AEOIkit keeps the same tab structure and identifier conventions, so the switch is a short one.

New returns and corrections to earlier years go in v3.0

The DITC has said that any new reportable accounts, corrections or deletions must be submitted using XML Schema v3.0. If you need to correct or add to a return for an earlier period after the portal reopens, that file must be v3.0 as well. AEOIkit produces v3.0 new, correction and deletion records.

Other dates to note

Existing FIs have until 31 January 2027 to complete the Principal Point of Contact appointment. Failure to file returns or keep PPoC details current can attract penalties per breach under the amended CRS Regulations.

    About AEOIkit

The product, your data, licensing and support.

Does my account holder data get uploaded anywhere?

No. The core tool runs entirely inside your browser. Entry, CSV import, validation and XML generation happen on your machine — there is no server and no account, and you can run it offline.

Will it run on our locked-down machines, or on a Mac?

Yes. It needs only a modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari — on Windows, macOS, Linux or a tablet. No installer, no admin rights, no macros.

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. The two-minute product video runs the full workflow on sample data, from a blank return to a validated v3.0 file. Anything it doesn’t answer, email [email protected] and we’ll reply within one business day. We don’t send out trial copies of the tool.

    How does licensing work?

A licence is a personalised, signed copy keyed to your organisation, FI number(s) and reporting year. Pay by card and it is emailed to you as a download link as soon as payment completes. CI$1,500 for one FI, CI$750 for each additional FI, intermediary licences from CI$8,000 for 10 FIs.

What happens when the reporting year ends?

Nothing ends: your copy keeps working for returns up to its licensed year, including corrections. When the next year’s return can be prepared, we email you (around mid-November, again in mid-January, and a last time in April) with a link that has your details filled in. Renewal is a deliberate purchase, not an auto-charged subscription.

We file for many FIs. Is there a bulk workflow?

Yes — CSV bulk import, draft save/load for preparer/reviewer sign-off, and per-FI pricing that slides with volume. Buy by card for up to 100 FIs from the Pricing page, or email us with your FI count and we’ll send an invoice or answer any questions.

    Who is behind AEOIkit?

An independent, Cayman-based team who have prepared and filed CRS returns through the DITC portal. It is deliberately a focused tool: it produces schema-valid v3.0 CRS XML and is priced accordingly.

    CRS v3.0 in general

The OECD standard, wherever you file.

    What is Schema v3.0?

The OECD’s XML schema for the amended Common Reporting Standard. It adds data per account — account type, new or preexisting, joint-account details, equity-interest role, self-certification status — and brings new data-quality rules with it. More on the CRS v3.0 page.

Is there a limit on the number of accounts per return?

No. The 50-account cap some filers remember came from the tool’s origins, not the schema. AEOIkit is tested with 1,000-account returns.

Can it produce corrections and deletions?

Yes. AEOIkit produces v3.0 correction and deletion records that reference the records they replace, with identifiers consistent with your prior filings.

What about jurisdictions other than the Cayman Islands?

The current release implements Cayman conventions. The Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey are planned for 2027, each validated against local rules before release. Tell us where you file and we’ll let you know.

    Will AEOIkit support CARF?

Yes. Support for the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework is planned for 2027. In the Cayman Islands the CARF rules took effect on 1 January 2026, and the first returns, for 2026, are due by 30 June 2027. FATCA is under consideration. If you’ll report under either, tell us at [email protected] and we’ll write when it’s ready.

    Cayman Islands

DITC-specific answers. The dates are on the Cayman guide.

Is AEOIkit endorsed or approved by the DITC?

No. AEOIkit is not endorsed or approved by the DITC or any other body. What we can say is that AEOIkit’s output validates against the official OECD v3.0 schema with zero errors on our test returns, and that when the DITC publishes its v3.0 portal rules we will re-validate against them and publish the results.

What happened to the free DITC XML Generator Tool?

With the move to v3.0, the DITC is no longer providing an XML generator tool. The portal closed to CRS XML in early August 2026 and is expected to reopen in early 2027 for v3.0 files.

Do corrections to earlier years also have to be v3.0?

Yes. The DITC has said new reportable accounts, corrections and deletions must be submitted in XML Schema v3.0 — so a correction to a prior period filed after the portal reopens must be v3.0 too.

    When is the 2026-period deadline?

30 June 2027, a month earlier than the old 31 July. From the 2026 reporting year onwards, the CRS return and the compliance form are both due by 30 June each year.

Does it follow the DITC’s identifier conventions?

Yes. MessageRefId and DocRefId follow the DITC identifier conventions used by the retired DITC tool. A correction references the DocRefId of the record you originally filed.
