Is there a CRS XML generator validated against CrsXML_v3.0.xsd?

Yes. AEOIkit generates CRS XML in the OECD Amended CRS Schema v3.0 (namespace urn:oecd:ties:crs:v3), and its output validates against the official CrsXML_v3.0.xsd schema set with zero errors on our test returns. It also checks the business rules that the XSD cannot express, before the file is built. Schema validity is the minimum. A return can pass the XSD and still be rejected.

What XSD validation proves, and what it does not

The XSD checks structure: that the elements are present, in order, with permitted values and formats. It cannot check rules that compare one field with another or with an earlier filing. Examples are which payment types are allowed for an account type, whether a DocRefId has been used before, or whether a correction points to a record that exists. The OECD status-message guidance defines error codes for those rules, and receiving authorities apply them.

What AEOIkit checks

  • Checks built from the official OECD CrsXML_v3.0.xsd schema: required elements, order, permitted values and formats. Our test returns validate against the XSD itself with zero errors.
  • Business rules from the OECD status-message guidance, such as the payment-type and account-type combinations, duplicate DocRefIds within the file, a missing CorrDocRefId on a correction, and joint-holder counts. AEOIkit cannot see what you filed before, so keep your earlier DocRefIds.
  • Cayman conventions for MessageRefId and DocRefId, as in the retired DITC tool.
  • Corrections and deletions that reference the records they replace.

Every problem appears in a plain-language list, with the field it belongs to. An automated regression suite runs before every release.

Check it yourself

The file AEOIkit produces is ordinary XML. Your IT team can validate it with any standard XSD validator against the schema files the OECD publishes on its Tax Transparency Resource Centre, which the DITC points filers to (DITC advisory, 17 June 2026).

When the DITC publishes its v3.0 portal rules

The OECD schema is the common base. Jurisdictions may add their own rules. When the DITC publishes its v3.0 portal rules, we will re-validate against them and publish the results. If the tool needs changing, every licensed customer gets the updated copy at no charge.

AEOIkit is independent. The DITC, CIMA and the OECD have not endorsed or approved it. Validation against the OECD schema is a test we run, not a certification.
