AEOIkit is a browser-based generator for CRS XML returns in the OECD Amended CRS Schema v3.0, built for Cayman Islands financial institutions and the firms that file for them through the DITC Portal. The current version is 1.5, released 11 October 2026. It writes v3.0 only, runs offline on Windows, Mac or Linux, and costs CI$1,500 per FI per reporting year.

What AEOIkit does not do
- It does not submit to the DITC Portal. You upload the file it produces.
- It does not write CRS XML v2.0, and it does not import existing XML files.
- It does not see your earlier filings. Keep your prior DocRefIds for corrections.
- It does not prepare FATCA or CARF returns. CARF support is planned for 2027; FATCA is under consideration.
- It does not produce nil returns. If an FI has no reportable accounts, the DITC’s process is a Filing Declaration on the portal, not an XML file (DITC Updates Bulletin, June 2026).
- It is not endorsed or approved by the DITC, CIMA, the OECD or any government body.
Names you may see for the same thing
- The standard: the amended Common Reporting Standard, also written “Amended CRS” and sometimes called “CRS 2.0”. That is the standard, not XML Schema v2.0.
- The file format: CRS XML Schema version 3.0, sometimes “CRS 3.0” or “CRS XML v3”; schema file
CrsXML_v3.0.xsd; namespaceurn:oecd:ties:crs:v3; user guide version 4.0. - The retired Cayman tool: the DITC “CRS XML Generator Tool” or “XML Generator Tool”, a macro-enabled Excel workbook. The DITC’s separate FATCA XML generator is still available (DITC Updates Bulletin, June 2026).
- The umbrella term: AEOI, the automatic exchange of information, covering CRS and FATCA.
Release history
- 1.5, 11 October 2026: stricter CSV import (birth dates must be real dates in YYYY-MM-DD; Closed, Dormant and Undocumented accept only true or false), and hardened licence checks.
- 1.4 (release date not recorded): joint-account entry simplified to Yes or blank.
- 1.3, 20 July 2026: business rules added from the OECD status-message guidance and DITC guidance, including payment-type and account-type combinations, and CorrDocRefId duplicate checks that now also cover the reporting FI record.
