Is there a CRS XML generator that works on a Mac?
Yes. AEOIkit runs on a Mac. It is a single file that opens in a modern browser, whether Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox, on macOS. It runs the same way on Windows, Linux and tablets. There is nothing to install, no Excel and no macros, and no admin rights are needed. It produces OECD CRS XML Schema v3.0 returns for the Cayman DITC Portal, validated before you download them.
Why this used to be a problem
The DITC’s retired CRS XML Generator Tool was a macro-enabled Excel workbook (.xlsm). It needed desktop Excel with macros enabled, which locked-down machines often block. Its macros also relied on Windows-only components (MSXML and ActiveX controls) that Excel for Mac does not have (our review of the DITC tool’s workbook). With the move to v3.0 the DITC no longer provides a CRS generator at all (DITC advisory, 17 June 2026).
How it works on a Mac
- Save your licensed copy anywhere, for example in Documents or on a shared drive, and double-click to open it in your browser.
- Enter or import accounts from CSV, check them and download the XML. All of this happens on your Mac.
- Your account data is not uploaded anywhere, and the tool works offline.
- The same copy works on your colleagues’ Windows PCs. A licence covers your organisation, on as many computers as you need, for the licensed FI numbers.
Before you buy
